Day 9 – After

Several months ago I went and bought a bunch of “burn-your-face-off” pepper. After sitting in the vinegar mixture since I bought them I finally got around to getting them in bottles. You get a two for one this time I couldn’t decide which was my favorite.

The main lighting is from my spiderlight. On the second picture I also popped my flash on the middle bottle to give a little better glow. I would have liked to to have a better backdrop so I could of had some negative space. I really like the pictures and I love the peppers I tried them on Prime Rib at and it was AWESOME!!

Day 6 – Olive Oil

The lighting project I was working on yesterday is done (kinda). I actually have a mock-up and was able to use it. So tonight I decided to use the set up and get a more technical picture. I wanted to get the the effect that you see with a white seamless background and one liquid pouring into another.

I am going to try again, but I am really liking what I got on the first try. It is just white paper and my spider light shining on the paper, and a reflective surface on the opposite side I think it will be better when I have both of the lights ready to go. I would also remove alot of the water droplets on the edge of the glass.

Day 5 – Projects

I am currently working on making my own studio lights for food and products. I got so wrapped up in working on this I forgot entirely about getting my picture in. So I figured I would take a picture of the progress.

This picture is not my favorite. It looks very similar to the one I took for Day 2 but is less interesting. Hey people they can’t all be gold.

Day 4 – Blog Header

I took a hint from a great photographer that I have never met, but admire alot.  Suzanne Plant is a photographer in the Salt Valley and started her own 365 challenge (link) at the beginning of the year.  One of her first pictures was her blog header.  I loved that idea and have been looking at a way to represent this project I am taking on.

I like the DOF on this picture as well as the angle, but I wish the parts that were in focus were sharper.

Day 2 – So Behind

I have a couple of projects that I am working on, and I am behind on most of them.  This is my workbench that I am trying to build my own spider lights.  Things are a little chaotic as you can see.

Looking at it there is not much I don’t like about it.  I feel like it tells the story I want, the colors are right, there are great details. the lighting is ok.
