Man was I in for a shocker on this photowalk. I did not imagine how hard it would be to work at remove the dark to make a picture. I still had a blast. We had a really fun group, and there was a lot of calling out settings and ideas. There are and will be more great picture on the Photowalking Utah Flickr stream check it out here I have posted more of the pictures I took on my Flickr stream here. By the way the title of this post is based on a theory that light bulbs are incorrectly viewed as emitting light when in reality they suck dark. More info here, it really makes for a fun argument.

EVER!!!!

We went to Gardner Village for a holiday evening.  I figured that since they go all out for Halloween then their Christmas would be amazing as well.  I was wrong.  There was nothing there that did not disturb me.  I did have fun hanging out with friends.  Here is the picture of stalker elf.

As in the best laid plans of nice and men go…

This picture actually turned out how I had envisioned…. Apparently my vision sometimes sucks.

I really have loved being in Chicago it really is a great city with fabulous people. However, there are fabulouser people waiting for me at home. I leave with the view from my room. I loved looking out my 25th floor window at the city below and above.

In Chicago. I have been posting the fun stuff, but really this scene and the inside of my eyelids was all I saw for 95% of the time I was in the Windy City. I desperately want to come back here as a tourist or for a convention.

Is still dang good. On the short list of things I had to try while in Chicago was a authentic Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza.  I’m still not convinced it is pizza, but I am entirely sure that it is delicious.  Tons of cheese, green peppers, onions and sausage merged together in a baked casserole of desire… yes it was that good. And yes I ate most of it and then collapsed into bed into a cheese coma until the morning. :D :D :D

Just for the record I was in Chicago for a training class for Red Hat Enterprise Linux.  Because it was such a intensive class I felt like I had no time to be a tourist.  So the extent of my site seeing was choosing different routes from 410 North Dearbon to 101 North Wacker. I can’t explain why but my favorite route was down to Washington and over. Probably, because I got to walk through this Christmas village.

Just for fun I have included a before and after picture.

I probably should have done something with the people at the bottom of the picture, but I couldn’t think of what to do.

My favorite route:

There are times that I still feel like a complete country bunk’n. One of those times was when I rolled into Chicago today.  This was the only day that I has for site seeing, but after 5-6 hours on the plane I was done. So the only thing I did was Chinese delivery and pictures from my room. I was on the 25TH floor and had a corner room it was very cool for the view.

This was more of a concept shot. I wanted to see if it was possible to get an image that I could work with.

I love photography because on a night that I am just going to take something so that I can say I did; I move a couple of lights and suddenly I am completely wrapped up in the process. I never would have thought of taking a picture how I did. I normally would to pull out the umbrella for a shot like this. Because I was lazy this time I found a look I love for this shot. Sure there may be some problems with it, but there are some things I love, mainly the textures rock. I want to go after this again when I have “time”
